2016 was a remarkable year for Access Automation Ltd

When we returned from our Christmas break in January 2016 we were already fully booked and as the year progressed each month seemed to be busier than the preceding one. It was our busiest year since the company launched in 2000.

Moving into our new offices in October 2015 has certainly improved our prominence locally; we have seen an increase in customers calling in saying ‘we were just passing and saw your sign’. We are always pleased to welcome our customers so do call in if you are in the area.

Whilst the majority of our work is still within the commercial sector we have seen a growth in enquiries and jobs won for domestic gates; we make bespoke gates to suit all tastes and budgets.

The Commercial Sector

Whilst Access Automation specializes in automated gates we also install and maintain blockers, barriers, turnstiles (internal and external), bollards, car park count systems and when required access control, i.e intercoms, card reader and fob systems.

Gate Maintenance

Servicing is a very important and integral part of any automated system and can reduce overall running costs by helping to prevent breakdowns.

As a general rule automated systems should be serviced every six months on commercial sites, i.e. multiple residencies, schools or business premises or at yearly intervals for low usage gateways, i.e. domestic residences of up to twelve operations per day.

Automated gates should also be force tested annually to ensure they comply with BSEN13241, the ‘umbrella’ standard for automated gates.

Service Contracts

In 2016 the number of service contracts we have with our commercial customers increased dramatically; we now have almost 100 contracts in place. Some of our customers have multiple sites and invite us to service, safety assess and force test new sites as they acquire them.

We also offer domestic service contracts with the option to pay by monthly standing order so spreading the cost.
